Or as it's also called Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King, Ring of the Nibelungs or Sword of Xanten.

At first glance it might look like a Lord of the Ring ripoff but it has absolutely nothing to do with J.R.R Tolkien fantasy. In fact: It's based on the Saga of the Völsungs, which is a Icelandic medieval saga... No wait! It's based on the Götterdämmerung, a German opera play that is in turn based on several stories including the Saga of the Völsungs... what?

The Condemned's premise is kinda like Running Man in that there's a big show featuring criminals that have to fight in order to regain their freedom, but the plot is vastly different. In this film there's 10 criminals instead that get put on an island where they have to fight it out and the last one standing is the one to win.

Minotaur is a film about, what else... The Minotaur. The film does a lot of things right with the movies, explains the premise really well and the premise itself is also very appealing, but for being a thriller I do have some thoughts on it's execution.

Kick-Ass is yet another superhero ordinary hero movie. This one takes the serious turn however and focus on the struggle of Dave Lizewski in his quest to become a super hero. After getting beat up in the first day of the job he gets a couple of metal plates implanted in him and a worse nerve system: resulting in him being able to take more pain than regular people.

This is a movie about an underground laboratory where a couple of scientists are researching an ancient artifact for a private corporation. A group of mercenaries are sent down to try to get the situation back in control but it's far too much for them to handle and they come across a couple of escaped human test subjects instead.

Mystery Men is a satire of superheroes. The greatest superhero ever known Captain Amazing has a dozen sponsors who sponsor his crime fighting. He has a PR-manager and his own limousine. Sadly he is a little too effective at eradicating crime in his city so he decides to free a terrifying super villain known as Casanova Frankenstein. Casanova manages to capture Cpt. Amazing and it's up to a handful of wannabe superheroes to try to rescue him!

Zombieland is a clear favourite of mine. It's meant to be a sort of satirical film about Zombie apocalypse films. However it doesn't satirize that much in my opinion.

Infestation is a movie that tells a "what if" story about a bug apocalypse happening to the world. Our protagonist Cooper is a fairly regular person without any talents whatsoever and he teams up with the daughter of his (now former) boss, a deaf muscle-mountain named Hugo and a couple of other good characters.

300's focus is clearly set on Epic. I have seen several scenes from 300 before and some of the "good bits" have been spoiled for me so keep that in mind.

Defendor is a movie about Arthur Poppington (played by Woody Harrelson) who dresses up into a superhero costume and fights crime. Unlike other superhero movies he's not "super" since he lacks any supernatural powers other than cheat gadgets and his gadgets consists mostly of marbles which he throws at enemies, angry wasps and a bat. While Arthur is very skilled at fighting (unlike other non-superhero movies), the movie still retains a realistic focus on his struggles: Meaning that he gets badly beat up during some points of the movie.
